About This Kit

If a person close to you passes away and does not leave a Will, then you may have to obtain a Grant of Letters of Administration before you can deal with their assets. There may be other situations in which you may need a Grant of Letters of Administration as opposed to a Grant of Probate, such as if the deceased left a Will, but that Will is not valid for any reason. Or, there may be Executors named in the Will that have died before the deceased and are then obviously unable to act as an Executor. Another family member may need to apply to administer the deceased’s estate.

The Quick Laws Letters of Administration kit explains how to handle a simple application for a Grant of Letters of Administration in the Supreme Court, without a lawyer. The updated edition includes all the latest laws, processes, forms, template letters, Affidavits and court procedures.
